Staying Cool at RiverScape MetroPark

Don’t let the hot weather in Dayton, OH, keep you in the house all day. From pools to nearby water parks, Dayton has plenty of places to stay cool and enjoy the summer. A fun downtown destination is RiverScape MetroPark. Bring the kids, enjoy the atmosphere, and — most importantly — keep cool. Below are some ways to beat the heat:
  • Dip in the fountains. The fountains and splash pad in Festival Plaza are the coolest places to be this summer. Kids and even fun-loving adults have plenty of room to splash around in the water.
  • Rent a kayak. Why hang out by the river when you could be in it? Rent a kayak from Ride the River Rentals and have fun exploring. The kayaks are available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays until August 31.
  • Get a cool treat. Graeter’s Ice Cream is just ten minutes from the RiverScape MetroPark, but with ice cream that amazing who cares how far away it is? Try a flavor from their delectable summer selection like Raspberry Sorbet or Summer Peach, or go traditional with the Buckeye Blitz or Double Chocolate Chip.
